The Rookes' 3 year old "Skipper" by Chics in the Male Joanne says "Amanda Self is very impressed with Skipper, the 2 year old.but I want him to go to Jarvis Anderson and see if he can make the NRHA futurity, if not we'll take him to the futurities up here. Jarvis was very impressed with his conformation and said he would send a horse or two home and take Skipper if he had to , he was very impressed with Spud our 4 year old Chics In The Male also and said I was doing a great job with him, our first show is Prince George the end of April, I'm pretty excited, I'm taking him to a schooling show in Armstrong next weekend." Lynne says " The two year old is almost a carbon copy of CANADIAN MALE EH my 8 year old gelding out of old HyVista Star. Conformation, color, 4 stockings, big blaze, flaxen mane and tail...the works! And the dams are so different. And J D Anderson had judged my Jets as a 3 year old and competed against Reti's Tito (Four Z Eyed Peppy) and REALLY liked them. So I can understand Jarvis wanting your Bubba baby.." Here is Bob and Joanne Rooke's beautiful Bubba Boy "Skipper" at Green Valley Farms in Texas with Jarvis Anderson. We are all very excited about this beautiful 3 year old stallion. He has a wonderful disposition, a huge stopper and changes leads like silk. His big sweepy turnaround is just like his daddy's.
"Skipper" just missed winning the RA Spring Classic Derby Championship by 1/2 point this June. Shown Amanda Antifev, the team is just getting used to each other.

Smart Like Fox Owned by Lynne and Larry McDougall of Ontario
Hi Lynne our 2 yr old is still a stud and he is gorgeous. He is riding great and we really like him. I am sending you a couple of pictures of him with my sister riding him. He is very athletic and a very dark liver chestnut. He looks like he is going to have some size and everyone that sees him loves him. I will get back to you about advertising next week some time. We have a big show coming up so are very busy. Take care and I will talk to you soon--Lynne |
This is Majorita Peppy's first and he's a character! Barn name "Jets" and he's chestnut too!
Another shot of Majorita Peppy's colt "Jets" at 14 weeks. You can see he's chestnut here.

This boy is two months old here, a dark bay with gorgeous hip, head and neck and matched chrome on the hind feet. |
Wildzangs Chic

I purchased "Chics So Smart" from Larry & Lynn McDougall last April 07 and truly love this horse. The McDougall's bred and raised this baby and he is an NRHA money-earner. I'm new to reining and this horse is teaching me a lot. He is the most level-headed 4 year old gelding I've ever had the pleasure to own and ride. He is rock-solid on the trails and my nine year old daughter rides him every chance she can. I took him to a team penning to see how he'd do on a cow and he was completely in his element - very cowy and naturally enthusiastic. "Ace" as I've nick-named him is really athletic and quick and has the extra gas when you ask. I've attached a couple pics to illustrate his versatility.
Enjoy,
Debbie Drew Ottawa, Ontario. owner:Chics So Smart /chestnut gelding/foaled May'03.

SG Smart Male
What a great name Lynne, for this fabulous horse. I was looking for a gelding that would be quiet, smart, willing, and easy to work with.
We have been on the trails, cowboy challenge, and fun shows. He is always willing and calm, and he loves cows - we will be doing some cattle sorting in the fall.
I changed his barn name to ACE, he is definitely Number one. All my riding buddies would like to have him!!
Thanks Lynne for breeding great horses. |
